Abstract: It is understood on a comprehensive basis that individuals, belonging to all occupations, communities, and socio-economic backgrounds are overwhelmed by different types of health problems and illnesses. These are experienced in a major or minor form. Research studies have shown that in rural communities, individuals often rely on natural environmental conditions to treat various health problems and illnesses. However, there are formulations of programs that emphasise bringing about improvements in healthcare services within rural communities. On the other hand, within urban communities, medical and healthcare services are well-developed. Individuals employed in these roles are expected to be well-versed in their job duties and responsibilities. Furthermore, various methodologies and procedures must be implemented satisfactorily. As a consequence, individuals are making an essential contribution to promoting good health, both physically and psychologically. One of the crucial aspects that needs to be taken into account is that individuals must prepare themselves adequately to ensure they benefit from the services. Therefore, it is well understood that the structure of the healthcare system is vital in promoting community well-being. The main concepts that are taken into account in this research paper are the health care system in rural areas, the functioning of community health care centres, the functioning of primary health care centres, the functioning of sub-centres, and measures to be implemented in bringing about improvements in the structure of the health care system.

Functioning of Hospitals: Vital in Promoting Good Health and Well-Being

Abstract: The hospitals are regarded as one of the prominent organizations, which have the primary goals of promoting good health and well-being of the individuals. This needs to be focused on physically and psychologically. Individuals from all age groups are experiencing various types of health problems and illnesses. Hence, they make visits to hospitals to receive treatment for these conditions. Medical practitioners and healthcare specialists must ensure that they treat these patients in a wellordered and disciplined manner. The measures must be implemented effectively to ensure the satisfactory functioning of the hospitals. Individuals are required to be well-versed in various types of pioneering methods and materials for the implementation of job duties and responsibilities. Furthermore, individuals need to possess well-developed moral traits, ethics, diligence, and conscientiousness. These are the keys to enabling individuals to cope with different types of dilemmas and challenging situations. Furthermore, they will achieve the desired goals and objectives. As a consequence, they will make a crucial contribution to the overall functioning of hospitals in an orderly manner. Therefore, the functioning of hospitals is vital in promoting good health and well-being. The main concepts considered in this research paper are understanding the meaning and significance of hospital functioning, measures to be implemented in promoting hospital functioning, and the advantages of promoting hospital functioning.

Abstract: The study was conducted to establish a relationship between hearing loss and the demographic profile in patients with chronic otitis media and inactive mucosal disease. Patients with chronic otitis media (COM) and inactive mucosal disease, of both sexes and different age groups, were assessed and grouped based on unilateral or bilateral ear involvement, rural or urban residence, and duration of discharge. Hearing loss (HL) was measured by calculating the air-bone gap via pure-tone audiometry. The study included 210 ears, a total of 161 patients. The patient age group ranged from 15 to 55 years. Maximum proportion (53 %) in younger age groups (15-25 years), but no relation with HL was seen. Incidence was higher in females, with significantly greater HL. Greater HL in bilateral involvement. 51% right ear and 49% left ear involvement; 59 % from the rural area, 41 % from urban areas; no significant difference in HL. Duration of ear discharge varied from 2 months to several years; maximum proportion (41%) for more than 10 years, with maximum HL (27.18 dB). Hence, it was concluded that the high incidence of COM was observed in patients within the younger age range, particularly in females, in rural areas, and cases of unilateral ear involvement. HL was significantly higher with the bilateral participation and in the female population. Greater HL was associated with longer discharging ears.
